This interview is with Julie Legault, a designer out of MIT Media Lab, who makes scientific and technological innovations approachable to the public.
With a background in interactive art and wearable tech, Julie has created Amino One, which she refers to as a tamagotchi for synthetic biology. A tamagotchi is a Japanese term used for handheld digital pets. A Netexplo 2016 award winner, I caught up with Julie to find out more about the Amino lab, how important and relevant design has been in the creation of this project, how she plans to help people to create insulin and fragrances at home and more.
