Minter Dialogue #65
This interview is with Eric Beard (left), whom I met at SXSW2013 thanks to my friend Jennifer Preston at the NYT. Eric is founder and Editor-in-Chief at “A Football Report” (AFR) which has over 300,000 followers on Tumblr. Eric is also currently consulting for KICKTV, YouTube’s original soccer channel that is partnered with Major League Soccer. AFR provides curated articles on football and has carved out a burgeoning loyal audience. In this conversation, we discuss the AFR site and business model, how brands can participate as well as some fun banter about football, or soccer as it’s called in the US. Enjoy the show.
For those of you who are regular listeners, you will find a new jingle at the beginning of the show, courtesy of my friend, Pierre Journel, author of the Guitar Channel. I invite you to take a spin!

I just saw something about this on tv. It discussed the same things you wrote
about.
I go to college in Canada and we just learned about
this in class. Thanks for helping me with the conclusion of my report.
Thanks for the outline of tv stuff.
I definitely think that cable tv is going to go
away. Or at least have to change with the times.
Online television is totally the wave of the future.
As internet speeds get quicker, everyone will be watching
their shows on sites like this.
What do you know about this? I think there’s a lot more to the subject
I was just watching this on PBS yesterday. They talked about the same things you wrote about.
