Dennis Berkhof
and Marco van der Werf are the co-founders of BIT Students Foundation, based in Amsterdam, a not-for-profit way for students to learn to code for free. The Bit Students “campus” is located inside the very original Student Hotel. On the heels of their successful venture, Dennis and Marco are now looking to start the equivalent of Ecole 42 (the famous coding school started by Xavier Niel in Paris) in Amsterdam in collaboration with Corinne Vigreux, the founder of TomTom. In this conversation, we look at their adventures, how education should improve, the world of new tech through the eyes of two aspiring geeky 26-year-olds, as well as how businesses could be better collaborating with startups.
