This interview is with Harriet Ruff,IBM Social Consulting, based in London, working on social business, big data and content analytics. In this conversation, we explore what is social business, we look at the cross section of big data and social media, as well as dig into the IBM activities at Wimbledon, where Harriet spent two weeks at this year’s tournament, driving social data with Wimbledon. Playing with “big” data and social media in sports is a great way to experiment. Harriet shares with us some insights and lessons learned, including some of the surprising social encounters online that were away from the Wimbledon site, including when Taylor Swift had Serena Williams join her on stage at her Hyde Park concert, or Kim Kardashian running into Serena at Harrods and more.
