Attended last night the opening of the Zoé Zoé Femmes du Monde (Women of the World) exhibit at the Musée de l’Homme (Man’s Museum), Palais de Chaillot, Paris 16e (17 place du Trocadéro).

With 200 renderings of women in all forms of drawings, paintings, books, videos and tapestries, this is a wonderful collection of art from Titouan Lamazou that portrays women in all parts of their lives around the world. Displayed in varying formats (tables, paravent and walls…), there is a beautiful harmony to the way the the artwork was displayed. Sometimes regrouped by color family, otherwise themed via cityscapes, portraits or activities, etc., the exhibit is a beautifully orchestrated spectacle, with a good deal of educational material on the ground floor before going on.

Definitely worth the visit. But be wary as there may be some incisive questions “why” from young girls about certain less-than-easy subject matter.
